If you’ve never given your cat CBD before, a safe rule of thumb is to start with 0.3mg – 0.4mg of CBD per pound, twice daily. So, if your cat weighs 10 pounds, you’ll give it 3-4mg of CBD oil, twice a day. Depending on the condition and the severity of it the dose might need to be increased.
There is no one-size-fits-all CBD solution – factors such as your cat’s size, metabolism, and condition will all impact how CBD works for them. Start low and make small adjustments as needed and go from there! (And don’t worry, CBD oil is safe and natural. Your cat will not overdose on CBD!)
If you’re using CBD oil for general well-being, your cat may not need a high dosage level.
For managing stress or anxiety in cats with CBD, a slightly higher dose might be recommended, but it’s essential to start small and observe your pet’s reaction. Gradual increases allow you to find the optimal dose without risking overconsumption.
If you’ve never give your cat CBD before, we recommend starting with 0.4mg / pound, twice daily for 3 days and observe your cat. If needed increase dose to 0.5mg/pound and make small increments of 0.2mg/pound.
Depending on severity of the condition you might need to go as high as 1.20mg/pound, twice a day. If extra relief is needed, contact us to discuss the best dose for your cat.
For discomfort we recommend given 0.40-0.60mg/lb twice a day in the morning and in the evening.
